6.35.3 Radio Features
AP Density
This option allows you to determine the signal strength at which the Ikôn radio will begin
searching for a new Access Point (AP): High, Medium or Low. If this option is set to High,
the radio will begin searching for a new Access Point while still at a fairly strong signal
strength. Setting AP Density to Low will cause the radio to wait until the signal strength is
significantly low before attempting to connect to another Access Point.
Depending on your site configuration – for example, the shelving, the Access Point cover-
age, etc. – a higher setting may improve through-put, increase and maintain signal strength,
and reduce missed transmissions.
Radio Power Management
When this option is enabled, access points that support it will use Radio Power Management
guidelines to control the Ikôn radio. Access points determine how often the Ikôn radio enters
