Recycling Information for Lithium-ion Battery: Battery Removal
Caution: Use safety goggles when disassembling your iP48
1. Use Philips screwdriver to remove screw of internal battery compartment, located
behind the dock
2. Remove battery compartment door
3. Disconnect battery connector
4. Do not place in trash. Dispose of battery according to local battery recycling laws
Installing/Replacing the Backup Battery
The iP48 uses a backup battery system to provide continuous alarm operation and
clock settings in the event of a power failure. The backup battery is included. If the
Backup Battery Low Icon (located on the upper left of the display) is flashing, it is
time to replace the backup battery. Please make sure the AC adaptor is connected,
otherwise all settings may be lost during battery replacement.
Open the backup battery compartment cover located at the center of the unit. Insert
1 “CR2032” battery with the”+” side facing up as indicated. Replace battery
compartment cover.
WARNING: Lithium batteries can explode or cause burns if disassembled, shorted, recharged, exposed
to water, fire, or high temperatures. Do not place loose batteries in a pocket, purse, or other
container containing metal objects, mix with used or other battery types, or store with
hazardous or combustible materials. Store in cool, dry, ventilated area. Follow applicable
laws and regulations for transport and disposal.
